"Iris Rising" is inspired by the rise of intersectional feminism, symbolized by the muted colors of the foundation transforming into bold multilayered colors as they move upward.
April Richardson graduated from Bowling Green State University and is a semester away from graduating from Tiffin University. She began drawing and painting at a young age, but only began a serious pursuit as a way to deal with her C-PTSD. Her preferred styles are abstract and expressionism when she paints and realistic portraits in charcoal for drawing. She is the mother of two adult children. She lives in Northeast Ohio with her husband, Luke, and their glaring of nine cats.
